What an online food handling course covers
A food handling course teaches the food-safety fundamentals every Australian food worker is expected to understand: personal hygiene and handwashing, avoiding cross-contamination between raw and ready-to-eat foods, keeping cold food cold and hot food hot, cleaning and sanitising, handling allergens, and safe storage and serving.
Ours is delivered as short online modules you read at your own pace on a phone, tablet or laptop. There's no classroom, no scheduled session and no enrolment form — you open it and start.
How the free test works
After the training you sit a multiple-choice test. The pass mark is 75%, and retakes are free — if you don't pass first go, we show you which questions you missed so you can review and try again straight away.
The training and the test are both completely free. You're never asked for payment to learn or to be assessed; the only thing you pay for is the certificate itself, and only if you choose to.
Training and test are free — certificate AUD $29.99, only if you pass.
Start the Free TrainingWhat you pay, and when
You only pay AUD $29.99 if you pass and want your certificate issued. At that point it's generated instantly and emailed to you as a PDF with a unique ID that an employer can verify online. If you just want to learn or brush up, you can do the whole course without paying anything.
Our certificate is a private certificate of completion — a practical way to show you've done food handler training. It is not a government-issued certificate, an RTO qualification, or a Food Safety Supervisor certificate; if your role requires one of those specifically, that's a separate, accredited course.
How fast can you finish?
Most people complete the reading and the test in under an hour. Because it's online and self-paced, you can do it in one sitting or come back to it — and if you're applying for a job this week, you can realistically have your certificate ready the same day.
